µDAWN Static Light Scattering Detector

The µDAWN from Wyatt Technology brings all the benefits of multi-angle light scattering (MALS) analysis to ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC). Coupled to the Wyatt Technology’s Optilab UT-rEX™ refractive index detector, a complete µSEC-MALS system can be built to characterize proteins, polymers for solution properties of macromolecules, molar mass-independent of elution time; molecular size, conjugation, conformation, oligomeric states etc. UHPLC enables fast, efficient separation of biomolecular samples with improved resolution, higher throughput, less solvent and smaller sample consumption for analysis of precious biological samples. MALS eliminates theuncertainities of column calibration, molecular standards and non-ideal column interactions and affords extra-high sensitivity to aggregates.

Every µDAWN includes an embedded COMET (Cell Operation Maintenance Enhancement Technology) for automated ultrasonic flow cell cleaning which helps in keeping the baseline noise under check and achieving high sensitivity. The µDAWN fully integrates with the Wyatt QELS (Online DLS) for measurement of hydrodynamic radius of eluting macromolecules in the same flow cell of the MALS detectors guaranteeing dispersion-less correlation between molar mass, rms radius and hydrodynamic radius.
